Eastern Canadian Duck & Goose Calling Championship
As some of you already know, we are organizing a duck & goose calling contest to be held at the Atlantic Hunting & Fishing Expo Saturday September 15, 2012. Times are to be decided yet.
Here are a few details we have so far
Entry fee- $20 will cover all categories
Categories
3 Man traffic goose- This is something new we are going to try that should be fun & will sound awesome! 3 person teams will take the stage for 60 seconds, your in a hunting situation & there is a flock of geese passing by your spread uninterested. You have to get them to turn & come to your spread (approx 30 seconds) then when their locked up, you finish them (approx 30 seconds). Basically this is a chance for you to do your thing in a hunting situation, no routine.
2 man duck- pretty much the same as the 3 man goose, your sitting in your favorite duck hole & a flock is passing you by, turn em, lock em & finish them. 60 seconds total.
Meat duck- this will be a 60 second meat style contest, there are lots of videos on YouTube to see how it goes.
Open goose- Also lots of YouTube videos to watch to see how an open goose contest goes.
There will be trophies presented to the winners of each category & hopefully to 3rd place. We are also talking to several companies to get donations for prizes. ALL PRIZES WILL BE DRAWN FOR!!! Everyone that enters has a chance to win any prize!
In order for this contest to be a success, we really need your support, anyone interested in calling in the contest or helping with the contest or sponsorship we would be grateful! Anyone wanting to call, we really need a commitment from you asap to help us organize the event. If you know anyone that might be interested in calling or helping out, could you please pass the word on.
We are still in the early planning stages of the event so we don't have all the details yet. We will keep everyone posted through The East Coast Waterfowl Mafia Facebook group.
If you have any questions about anything please feel free to contact, Wesley Thebeau, Matthew Wilson or Glen Gillespie.
