HI: I have no idea where to ask this, but... Did John G. MacKenty, author of the 1953 book Duck Hunting, ever carve his own decoys? I know that many have come from his rig, but have never read//heard of an accounting of his own personal experience with carving. I have a pristine, brown--no paint, red glass-eyed, detailed carving under the bill, head turned slightly duck with the initials J.G.M. and what looks like Rky Mt, N.C. carved into the bottom of the body. It does have a pole hole. Thank you, Michele ps. What does a Dallas (?) cheerleader have to do with ducks?
