I am a bit late signing up and saying thank you, but I was the lucky winner of the Browning Maxxus. Needless to say it was the best $20 I ever spent. This is my first year hunting, and my first year in the draw, so I will make sure that I buy tickets for the next five years to give at least some of it back.
To be honest, I have never been duck hunting, so I am looking forward to getting out next year. I do not know a lot of hunters, so if anybody is willing to take a complete newbie out next season let me know. Anybody who takes me out can have complete use of the Browning if that entices you at all.
This looks like a great site, and while I will have little to add (as I have been hunting a total of about 5 times) I will definitely be checking in and asking some dumb questions. Also hoping to get out to the shoot in July if all goes well.
Cheers,
John

Congrats on the win. Once you get out there and bag some waterfowl you will surely become an addict!! Great place to pose your questions as this is where you will find the answers and some down to earth die hard waterfowlers!!

I finally got the Maxus out for a test run. Went up to the MVRRC for a sporting clays shoot on Sunday. Put 50 rounds through the Maxus and man is that ever a nice gun. Ever round went in smooth, and my shoulder was no worse for wear. The folks at MVRRC we great as well, expecially considering my skill level was well below the average.
If anybody out there has room for a spare guy on a hunt this fall let me know. I have never been out for waterfowl before, but am happy to learn, and lug the decoys.
