Thanks for setting up a hunt for us Ed. The spot shows promise and we learned a lot! Nice photos too. One comment about the second photo though. You'll have better luck if you shoot the birds with the long pointy thing - just sayin'! lol! We hit one more spot after you had to go. Kicked up some hens, then Jason missed a longish shot at a rooster. The cover was EXHAUSTING and so we were stumbling back in the pouring rain, barely able to lift our feet when I stepped on a nice rooster! It flushed low with Ruby right on it's tail. As it lifted and pulled away I scared it with a few shots to try to let Jason have another crack at it, but he missed. GEESH! ;D -Croc

Looks like you are starting the season off with a bang. Congrats with the roosters. We hunted the Port Williams and Centreville area today for the opener and had a great day as well. We bagged our limit and finished off the day with some delicious slow cooked goose done in a sweet and sour sauce along with fresh cornbread. Can't wait until the corn is knocked down, this is always the way down there. Opener comes and then you have to wait as they cut the corn little by little......oh but it is worth the wait, as it pushes the roosters into the hedgerows instead of the hundreds of acres of standing corn. "Long live the longtails!" Great job on the flying rooster Ed. You must be pretty quick on the camera for that one.....great shot!
