I got nothing to report boys - I put in 4 hours 'at the dentist' this morning... ;D Anyone get out after a few trout? In my spots, there's still sleeping.............. If you DO get out - go SLOW and get LOW - I'm pretty sure they're hugging the bottom and just waiting for a bit of warmth to get them moving. If you bump them on the nose with a worm you might get a few! -Croc

I got a nice rainbow a few days ago. I had to drill through almost 30 inches of ice to get him though.

Heheh - congrats! I didn't know that trout cared about camo though - maybe THAT'S my problem - I wasn't wearing a coordinated set of Max-4! Top two look tasty, but that bottom on is just cruel! (I know, jealousy is never pretty!) lol! -Croc

Finally made it out Sunday afternoon for a few hours to wet a line on the Miramichi. We managed to boat 10 slinks (9 grilse, 1 salmon) and an 8" trout (by-catch). We pounded the first 4 in about 20 mins, then things slowed down, but it was a great way to spend the afternoon.

The ridiculously small trailer the missus and I live in backs onto a huge park and I see guys trout fishing there every day when I dogwalk. They seem to catch 12-14" fish regularily and they look tasty! Tonight we get licences and join them. Almost all my fishing has been done with a gill net, Rotenone or an electrofisher so this could be interesting.....

Take'em and I finally got into them this weekend - tasty as hell!
Jaydog - most normal people use a flexible pole with a line-winding contraption strapped to it, then tie some kind of bait or lure with a hook in it on the end. Your other methods probably won't fly with the local COs, but you can try...

What kind of advice did you give me Croc? I wrote it down: "flexible pole, strap on contraption, bait" and went into the fishing store and they told me to get out? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ?

The good thing about a strap on Jaydog is that you won't catch anything. -Croc
