Finally got some mail, my $100 check arrived, but no bird reports. Using Croc's method I figured out that both blacks were banded this year in NB and the BW teal in 2004 in NB.
Interesting thing with the check was an ***Important Notice to Check Recipient***
"This check needs to be negotiated by November 28, 2008. After that date, there may be problems negotiating the check because the contract between the Department of the Interior and Bank of America is expiring"
I will be headed to the teller tomorrow morning, but makes me wonder what may happen with future reward bands??

I often wondered if there was any sort of an "expiry date" on the reward, however you would think that you should at least get the season out of them. From what I understand, the reward band system was set up to encourage hunters to report bands, which for some reason there are a lot of people who do not do. So maybe it was a case of these had a short window on them to see what the local take of birds were in the are where they were banded.
Anyhow sounds like an early Christmas present for you!!! Congrats

Almost forgot to report my Christmas Eve arrivals. 2 down, 1 to go. I had contacted them and there are apparently multiple entries of the location I used on the dropdown menu provided on the online entry. Had to provide them with a different city/town, distance and direction.
Black duck was banded this season basically where I shot it.
Blue wing was banded in Albert county (shot in York) in 2004, so it had a pretty good run, read somewhere duck life expectancy is 2 years in the wild.

Blue wing had a good run then...was it a drake or a hen?

It was a hen, hopefully had a few successful broods. I figure she probably just didn't want to make another migration!!

Finally got the report from my 3rd and final band.
A hen black duck, hatched and banded in 2008 not far from where I encountered it.
