I was just going through some of my gear in my gun cabinet and pulled out the old papers from the bands I had harvested back over the years and now I'm wondering who else may have gotten lucky and got a band or bands..
I have 4 ...3 of which were banded in Musq. Hbr. and 1 banded in Souris, PEI...all were taken in East Chezzetcook back in 97/98/99..

Well I have shot 2 banded BWT, 5 Woodies and 4 Mallards thru my 35 years of waterfowling! Shot one goose with a mooselook lure snarled around his beak with fishing line.

I got one sweet-ass band with my call-lanyard, just so that I can look cool, but that's it for me! -Croc

Finally, after 29 yrs of gunning waterfowl, I bagged two Canada's at 2 separate times....and got 2 bands. Both were banded pretty close to where we shot them. What ticks me off, a good friend of mine, which was a die-hard deer hunter at the time, but we converted him to waterfowl.....on his first ever duck hunt, in 1992, his first duck....a nice black...is banded. that no good SOB ;D ;D Needless to say, he can't rub it in anymore.

I have been lucky enought to collect 11 bands, everything from Greenwing teal (1) to Wood Ducks (2) to Blacks (3)to mallards (3)to a Canada Goose (1) but the piece de resistance a Greater Black back Gull!!! I am hoping that the one to make the Dozen will be a nice Drake Eider.... We had an opener in NB about 4 years ago where the 3 of us hunting got a total of 18 birds and 6 were banded..... location, location, location!!
