I went to my local taxidermist today looking for a mount that was done in jan. of a hen mallard. well i had been in back then and was i ever impressed with the look- I was very happy. I did do a couple of minor adjustments and i was saying that tis will be a great looking bird when I paint it up. Looking at it today was "holy shit what happened" very discouraging to say the least. So I have recieved one good job and one that I am unhappy with. I didnt take the bird home as I told the guy maybe mine was given out by accident. this bird didnt even resemble the one i had seen previously.
This was the end of taking birds there for me. i cant handle the hit and misses.
I guess i will need to develop a new artform- BIrd taxidermy!!!

Danny Clark in Charlottetown does great bird work. He still does all of mine and I feel it's worth the pain and agony of transporting the frozen birds and mounts back and forth across the country. His prices are very reasonable ($100 a duck, I think) and he gives discounts if you pay up front. This is the wigeon he did for me. I also have a goshawk, lynx, deer, two ptarmigan, a black red squirrel, 3 black ducks and the cackling goose all done by him. ![](http://www.hunt101.com/img/252215.JPG)
