The best calling instructiona tape I have seen to date is the Shawn Stawl Honker Talk DVD. We will talk you through everything you need to learn and will also show you. I have met them man and he is as nice a person as you wanna meet and will take the time to talk to people in the stores and show them little tricks to calling. If you have a chance, check out his new hunting DVD, Fowl Pursuuit 4. I just got it and loved it.

Does anybody have a CD version for short read calling instructions instead of the usual DVD types.. It's getting really hard to learn in the house with the miss's screaming " Shove tha God#$% thing up your A$$ already"..well maybe not quite like that but "enough already" is more like it.. but you get the point..I really need to learn and can't find one..
I've got tapes but no tape player in the car..just a CD player

Yeah. I agree on the short reeds. I was exclusively flute and resonate calls. It does take a bit to get use to them, but once you have the basics....the other calls seem to take a back seat. Where they seem to be better off is, in a layout blind. Most older style flutes were a little to bulky and in certain blinds...just couldn't be used comfortably enough. I'm sure Ed knows, that I use Winglock. Both in duck and goose calls. Rick, the maker, just lives about 45mins to and hour away....and has one of the best customer services.
