Well it was a chilly ending to the pheasant season to say the least. We started the morning duck hunting, a few birds around, we managed 5 blacks. Deuce toughed out the morning with ice forming on his shorthaired back.....brrrrrrr. Off to a quick breakfast and then to the field, we managed 4 roosters, pointed and flushed 2 hens. Here's hoping everyone else had a good last day, can't wait for next year... i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u632/chessie72/lastdaydec15006_zps3c4c10c1.jpg

Thanks Ed, I think you have had me covered this year, shot a pile of ducks and pheasants with alot of your gear. Kent Faststeel, Bigfoot goose dekes, Mud River gear, FA duck decoys. Feel free to post the pic on duxndogs.

Congrats on the last day limits! We hunted hard for 4 hours or so and managed 7-8 hen flushes and 2 roosters, but they were wiley ones! We didn't managed to knock them down but had a good day with some new folks on new cover. It was closure to what has been my best season to date though, so to hope for much more in terms of birds would have been just plain greedy (although I will admit to a little envy when I see your pic! lol!). And yes, now the l-o-o-o-n-g wait begins. I keep telling myself that if pheasant season was any longer I'd end up fired and divorced, so it's just as well that the law cuts me off in mid December before things go totally off the rails! -Croc

Meh, they get over it... I'll get to that honeydo list in the next few months. Until trout season opens April 1st that is, after that, say goodbye again! lol! Actually, my old lady's been a trouper this year (so far...). The boss, not so much - lol!

Great job Andrew. Looks like you had an awesome day with the longtails. Sucks that it has come to a close....October seems so far away, but a great way to close regardless.
