Orion had a great morning. We went to my new hunting paradise that I happened to come across this year. The plan was to stomp the bushes for some pheasants. Little did I know, we should have been set up for ducks. Walking down to the area the sky was alive with ducks, I am talking at least a thousand. Anyway we worked the area, had a good time. Had 8 flushes, I screwed up my first opportunity. damn safety! I made up for it on the next opportunity. We were working a brier, wild rose mess when he started to get the signs. There was a bird somewhere in the area. The birds were holding tight all morning and this one was no different. Orion put him up, I missed the first shot an clipped him with the second. He hit the ground running. I sent Orion after him. By the time I reached the top of the knoll we were hunting around, Orion was coming to me with a beautiful Bird in his mouth. We ended the day with only one in the vest but once again I take home a memory of a great hunt. I wish I had my camera but so you'll have to settle for a phone pic.
