Had a great day Saturday with Hans and Dan. Oscar worked hard helping us each get our limit of pheasants. Weather was beautiful and I got a chance to hunt some new territory. One of the birds taken was the poorest cock I've ever seen. Not sure if it was a late clutch or a health issue. He cackled when he flew, had red rings around his eye and spurs, but weighed half of what a normal immature bird does. He also ran like the Roadrunner after he landed. Oscar tailed that bird for 5 + minutes before getting him in the tall grass. Oscar worked hard throughout the day and still was going fairly strong when we finished up at 2 pm. . It looks like he went 10 rounds with the Champ. There no doubt who worked the hardest in our group. Hope you all enjoyed the first weekend bird hunting! I haven't been out for ducks or geese yet, but can't wait. Mike

Bet he had a good nap after that one.
Kinda wish we had a pheasant season in NB, not a pay to play on the preserves.
