I came across a delema today. I was full of the ol' itch to buy decoys, dog vest, duck calls, goose calls, etc, etc. But I had to leave because of the FEAR FACTOR of the wife finding a stash of new hunting gear.
How the hell does a guy get around that??
Cheers.

Buy then deny. "What, THOSE old decoys? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Got those out of the bargain hunter a couple of months ago...." Luckily, most women don't know a GHG full-body 40$ decoy from a 5$ carrylight!!! Joke apart though - my approach last year was to make a list during hunting season of what I wanted. Couldn't afford most of it then because of the actual costs of hunting, but I picked up the "essentials" and then bought 1 or 2 things a month ever since. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to afford AND to explain/hide! (I know, I know - USELESS advice to you now - a week before opener!!!!lol!). -Croc

hahaha, same predicament here! I like to use the term "garage purchase" as in I put my new gear in the garage/basement/shed, make sure to burn all of the boxes, make sure to mix it in with all the other gear, and if she asks, I say " no, that's the stuff I got last season". Similar to a response above. It worked for me so far!

I don't know but everything in my barn belongs to someone else? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ? Chezz my good buddy. I am VERY sorry that I cluttered up your barn with all eight dozen of my goose dekes and my three sets of camo-coordinated waders/coats for so long. I want to really thank-you for storing this stuff for me all this time. I'll be buy with a case of Keiths and a trailer to cart it all away. Thanks again! -Croc

Maybe you could get BD to call home and leave a message that you owe for an upcoming raffle and that you wanted to make sure you were in for it. Then have BD call and leave a message that you won and can pick your prize anytime.
And just like those scams you hear about he could say that there may be a slight shipping cost to get the item in.

I was over at a buddy's place not too long ago and was informed that I owned the Bowflex, PS2, Total Gym and whole bunch of movies that are in his basement. I was thinking that I need to go over and get my stuff when he is at work.
