Pheasant-wise, it was the best year I've seen in the 7 years that I've been hunting them in the valley, but still down in Musquodoboit and some of my other spots.
More grouse around, but I didn't manage to find much time for that.
Woodcock - average.
Snipe - above average and they stayed LATE.
Duck-wise, I found it to be just about average in most areas that I hunt (although, as Take'em pointed out, my total duck hunting effort was very minimal until after pheasant season closed), and above average in the late-season out in the Fundy Mud for mallards.
Goose - can't really say because I don't pay a whole lot of attention to them, but from what I saw, they seemed to be down a bit.

I would love to kick the SOB's right in the nads that allowed the season changes for this year...
Early goose season on the Eastern Shore was an absolute joke.. I don't think a single bird was shot during the entire 3 week season... Considering there was a grand total of 32 birds seen from Clam Hbr to Cole Hbr..
I can only pray they break up the southern/eastern shore areas into their own zones and put it back to where it should be...earlier for us and later for them...

i will be taking more vacation at that time of year if the season stays the same... i wish our north season was later id like maybe regular oct season ,then 3 weeks in nov no hunt then back at it until jan 15 th we used to have split seasons in the past they seem to work it may work better for the north season.....
another thing there is so many hybred black ducks now i think they should abloish the 4 blk limit for 6 ducks total for puddlers,,,6 bay ducks [divers] and 6 for seaducks....eiders cockawee ec..
pipe dreams im sure....
ive asked for segragation of the bird limits for years
puddler/bayducks[divers]/seaducks....

For myself I am still learning where and how to hunt in my new area. Seems some days it requires more scouting than I ever did before. As to ducks I got as many as I wanted but had to work for the, and the geese seemed to be easy to get a limit most days I went after them. On a bit of an area of concern, some of the fields I traditionally hunted where leased out this year. The farmer did it to stop an ass for fighting with others everytime he was around and not for the money. But it sets a precident that might spread and as my pockets are not deep, worries me for the future.

Had a pretty good season, didn't get out as much as I liked, but managed to shoot birds all but one trip. Overall numbers are down from historical averages, due to not getting out as much as I used to. Having a baby and major reno's on the property will do that. Just some comments to add to the above posts:
Don't do away with the early goose season...some of the best goose hunting available is in September.
Return to the old zone 2 season dates. I also hunt the same spot as Croc and Takem for woodies/pheasants, and there were hardly any woodies to speak of this year.
The hybrid is not counted towards your black duck limit. If it is a hybrid, the wildlife guys from EC are going to know. I'm fine with dropping the black duck limit to 3. Could be worse...I talked to a guy from the states on the Englishtown Ferry one time when I worked up there, he asked what the limit was up here on Black ducks, as he was seeing all kinds. I told him 4 and he couldn't believe it, he said it was only 1 where he's from. I can't remember which state it was.

I had a slow year, Back/Disk problems plagued me all season. I had two bright spots in the season First was helping Chezz get his First wild Turkey ;D followed by a couple good Goose hunting days. Second was Big Mike's visit for the Bad Back/slow short fat guy Goose Hunting trip, ;D Trip Motto "MOVE SLOW---LIFT LIGHT ITEMS ONLY AND ENJOY THE TROPICALLY WARM BLUE SKIES" ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) If anyone wants to book a vacation find out when Mike is coming to visit me, guaranty 6 sunny days in a row with less than 5km/hr winds and not a cloud in the skys ![:)](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/oldducker/kissass.gif) The day after Mike went home we got 6 inches of snow, not joking we prayed for bad weather the whole time "I know his name is Murphy but --really ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) a bit of rain or wind isn't much to ask for in November is it. Made over 100Lbs of goose/pork sausage between the group from the season can't complain too much

The season started out amazing, with Anthony securing a field holding geese and we manged 8 that day, 2 of which were banded. Spent time scouting but I just don't seem to get lucky!! Manged a few teal at our regular spot but did not get out nearly as much as I wanted. I did mange to buy some more gear though and purchase a dozen field Goose decoys when I was in Winnipeg in September at cabelas. Did use my new layout blinds that were awesome.

Been awhile since ive posted on here.. We had a great year on the geese and ducks. Didnt shoot what we normally would but thats because of new found love for hunting deer. As a group we shot just over 130 geese and as for the ducks we never bothered hunting them until late december(dont like pluckin Pin feathers) but we had some amazing hunts. Had one hunt over a corn feild on christmas break with freinds and family all together(10 of us) were we shot 41 ducks in about an hour and half. However the late season was a bust for us in Cape Breton because everything froze and all the waterfowl left.

We had been watching this feild for sometime and were waiting for freinds and family to be home for holidays. Had a long ditch which aloud everyone to hide well and had the wind perfect. Never shot our whole limit but figured we had more then plenty to pluck. ![](http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy140/duckslammer1/DSCF2026_zps446235dd.jpg)
