I have 2 of them..I don't think the brand is too much to worry about these days because most of them all have the same internal motor..The ducks really would only notice the wings spinning.. I think they work well but of course I only hunted one day with one of them and we shot more birds than the blind beside us.. I just bought another one from Ebay and haven't used it yet..
If you find the birds wary of it, turn it off...
Here is a tip I found on the web..
Spinning wing duck decoys can be one of the most deadly tools a mallard duck hunter can use. There effectiveness has decreased since their introduction, but using the following tips can increase the effectiveness of your spinning wing decoy. 1) Use spinning wing decoys on sunny days.
The flash of the spinning wing simulates the flash that landing mallards make as they light into a landing location. Point the wings of your decoy to pick up the most reflection. The more flash that is created, the farther mallards can see your decoy.
2) Place the spinning wing decoy right where you want the birds to light on migration days
Put the spinning wing decoy in the exact spot you want the birds to land. Usually this is right where your preferred shot will be. On non-migration days or heavily hunted birds, place the decoy off to the side as experienced birds tend not to land where the spinner is located.
3) Know when to take the spinner down
Mallards have seen these decoys from Canada all the way down to your honey hole and start avoiding them the farther south you are located. On migration days the decoy works like magic, but on birds that are familiar with the area, they can be more of a hindrance. Taking them down can save your hunt
4) Do not use spinners on cloudy overcast days
The effectiveness of the spinner goes down when there is little sunlight hitting the wings. Take them down on cloudy days as the motion will scare incoming mallards more than it will attract them.
5) For all you goose hunters, spinners flare more geese than they ever attract

Yeah Feetdown, I have one as well. called Canaduck from Ontario. It works great. I set up as an experiment last year in an area where I knew was not a real productive spot but it could be seen by the birds going into a spot not too far away a spot. There was a crew in the more favorable spot so I backed off and set up the spinner. I had my daughter there and she operated the decoy (which she loved). I believe every bird that came into the marsh sucked into our spread and the other guys could not believe it. We had our limit very quickly and then stayed to watch the evening show as the ducks came onto the marsh they would beeline to the spinner and pitch into the decoys. I am definately sold on these and it also gives the youngsters somthing to play with so they don't get too bored between flights. When we came off of the marsh the other guys could not believe the birds that came into the corner that we were in because they "never" go there. I believe tyhey were also sold and were looking for info to order one as well. Money well spent. Look at one with a remote system, definately an asset!!!

lower sackville. anthony and i were in there buying krylon paint for plastic to finish off the canoe camo job. we only got one coat of olive drab on the hull. lol. well get it all done before belleisle. some how. we checked out the hunting isle and saw the spinner. i walked away and left anthoy thinking about it. when i came back he was at the sports desk checking out the flyer and still thinking. as i walked up i told him that he couldn't buy it. he asked why. i told him there was only one. (and there was). he was only confused for a second as he looked down and saw that i had it in my hands. its ok though on the way out i was wondering how i was gonig to transport it to any hunting sites and he offered to take it in his bag. what a nice guy.lol ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png) yep i think it was a good deal for around here.
