Joke apart Mike - you NAILED it. The mount is beautiful, but the realism of the water is unbelievable - look forward to seeing it on the weekend. I've seen a coffee table with a glass top and inside what the head of a blue marlin set as if it was fighting at the surface. In that case, the mount was beautiful (although fake/replica) but the water looked like yellowish glue - they just didn't nail it like you did here. Nice work. -Croc BTW - I'll bring you some wood duck recipes on Saturday to give to you. Next time Take 'em sends you some nice drake woodies you'll know how to do them up juuuuuust right! lol!

That is awesome. When I was in Manitoba last year I went to Oak Hammock Marsh where DU has its interpretive center and they have a huge display of a marsh. It is amazing the way they replicated the water in the marsh and have everything from ducks in the water, fish under it, other birds, deer, muskrats, wildlife etc.

now i bet the sweat was beadin on your forehead when you about to set mr prety in now wasnt it,,,one feather caught against the wrong way ...
will the water discolor in sunlight???
now for a woody id use back water colors tea to darkish brown with a few different fall colored leaves stuck in it ...ah the possibilities
very very nice work lots of pride showing thru here boys....

That looks awsome. Just thought of something that would be cool, if you could do it.
Diver Bookends. A diver swimming underwater. You would have to remove the cast from the mold. How clear does it set?
Would this be possible?
If so I think I may have a mission for next season

Anthony.. think of those clear cast resin keychains with the pennies in them.. it dries that clear.... and after a little buffing it would look awesome

I don't know if the resin would yellow, it is a special clear cast resin so I think it would be allright. As far as being in the sun you shouldn't have any mounts(animal or birds) in the sunlight because it will fade the mounts. As far as underwater mounts Anthony I think it could be done you would have to have a deeper base and less ripple in the water to see better. Well I better go we're leaving for NS when Matthew gets home from school, see you guys at the dinner.

Clear cast is meant to stay clear and non-yellowing
