So here's the story. 3 years or so ago, on our way to work one morning, my buddy and I come across a 12' deep hull Springbok aluminum boat on the side of the Old Guysborough Rd. The Serial # was still on it, but it had significant damage on the keel in the bow area. We decided to throw it on the truck, and to call in the serial # to see if it was stolen. It came back reported stolen from B.C. 5 years before!!! Long way for a stolen boat to travel. So I got the contact info for the owner, and sent him photos of the damage. He was happy that we reported it, but said it wouldn't be worth it for him to have it sent back, so he signed it over to us!!! So last month we finally got around to having the keel welded, and some sealant put into it so she'd hold water. I'll dig up the pic of the boat and post it later. Now comes the fun part, the camo. I somewhat followed Croc's method of poaching a pic off the net, printed it, laminated it, and cut it out with a box cutter knife. On a piece of cardboard, I laid down a base of Olive, then grass pattern of Khaki.
Turned out alright, but needed more breakup, so I found a bark pattern, and laid it down in between the base coat and grass pattern.
I think it turned out alright for just the cost of paint.
Here's the bark stencil:

I'm hoping to get the paint put on the boat within the next 2 weeks, to be ready with plenty of time for the start of the season. The paint is just spraybombs of Krylon ultra flat camo spray from Cdn. Tire. $6.29/can
